Stella & the Rosie Joyfuls’ song, ‘It’s a Good Life,’ was selected as a finalist in the 2018 Session-II of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, making it the third song to reach the finals of this international competition!

Stella & The Rosie Joyfuls’ title track, ‘Pants on Backwards,’ was selected as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, once again!

September, 2017

Stella Swanson & The Rosie Joyfuls’ album, “Pants on Backwards,” was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Children’s Album of the Year!!!  This was their second nomination from the CFMAs.  Unfortunately, the band didn’t make the trek to Ottawa for the festivities, but Stella & the Rosie Joyfuls would like to congratulate Fred Penner for taking home the award.

April, 2017

‘Pants on Backwards,’ was nominated for Breakout West’s Western Canadian Music Award for Children’s Album of the Year!  This was the second nomination from Breakout West and Stella Swanson & The Rosie Joyfuls were happy for their friend, Ginalina, who won the award this year.

February, 2016;

Stella’s song, ‘I’m Not a Bunny,’ was entered in the 2015 International Songwriting Competition, and she has been selected as a semi-finalist! Stella wrote the song by herself when she was just eight years old!

September, 2015; Stella’s album, “I’m Not a Bunny,” was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Children’s Album of the Year!!!  Stella and her family band had a blast opening  the Saturday night showcase at the Northern Lights Folk Club in Edmonton, Alberta, as part of the CFMA festivities.   She attended the awards with her family on November 8th at the Citadel theatre and was able to congratulate ‘The Swinging Belles,’ on taking home the award.  She was also able to congratulate her producer, Helen Austin, on bringing home an award for Big Little Lions!

May, 2015; “I’m Not a Bunny,” was nominated for Breakout West’s Western Canadian Music Award for Children’s Album of the Year.  Stella attended the awards in Victoria B.C. in September, and performed in the ‘Mini-B.O.’ showcase in Victoria.  Stella would like to congratulate  her friends Raffi and Fred Penner who tied for the win!
